Hello, I'm Philip.

I live in Aotearoa New Zealand, which is now home. Originally, I'm from Oregon in the Pacific Northwest of America.

I write software and develop websites for a living. You can see some of the work I've done in my portfolio. I also have a some personal projects you can check out. If you're into TTRPGs (tabletop role playing games), you may even want to use them!

While I work across the entire web stack, I enjoy making clean and accessible interfaces that don't cause friction or frustration to the person using it.

I write on my blog to share what I've learned while programming, both to help others who may have the same problem as well as my future self. I'll definitely forget how I did that thing in a few months. Sometimes I write about other things as well so it isn't just another tech blog.

While not sitting in front of a computer, I'm usually rock climbing 🧗, running 🏃🏽, or tramping through the beautiful New Zealand back country 🏔️. I'm also not above pretending to be a wizard with my friends playing TTRPGs. 🧙🏼

There's still some work to be done around this site. I've focused mostly on content so far, not splashy visuals. I have a little checklist of things I'd like to do around here.
